Marshall & Marshall, CPAs was started in 1994 by Ingrid Marshall, working part-time while raising children. At the time, Tom Marshall, her husband, worked for a CPA firm in New York City. In 1999, Tom left his position in NYC and joined Ingrid in the business in Stroudsburg. Since then they have concentrated on growing the business and have built a solid client base, in various industries and geographical locations. Their focus on prompt, professional service continues to make them a favorite of small-business owners and individuals, alike.

 

Staff Profiles

Thomas F. Marshall, CPA is a principal in Marshall & Marshall, CPAs. Tom has over thirty-five years of public accounting experience, ten of those with a mid-sized CPA firm in Manhattan. He is licensed to practice in both New York and Pennsylvania. He served two years on the Small Business Committee of the NY State Society of CPAs.

Prior to entering into public accounting, Tom worked in the Accounting departments at several major brokerage firms on Wall Street. While working on Wall Street, he continued his graduate studies and graduated in 1988 from St. John’s University of Jamaica, NY with an MBA in Public Accounting. Tom received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1983. In 1987, Tom was elected a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business.

Tom volunteered for several local organizations, including Treasurer for Boy Scout Troops 75 and 80 and Pocono Mountain East Youth Association. He served as Treasurer of Cub Scout Pack 75 and the Pocono Mountain Youth Soccer Association. He is a former Trustee for the Knights of Columbus Council #12114 and has volunteered his expertise to assist the treasurer of the Youth Association of Pocono Mountain with their taxes and exempt organization status.

Tom is a member of both the New York State Society and Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.


Ingrid M. Marshall, CPA is a principal in Marshall & Marshall, CPAs. She is also an Adjunct Professor in the Finance and Risk Engineering Program at NYU, Tandon School of Engineering. Ingrid is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.

Previously, she was an accountant with Martin Rosen & Company. Prior to that Ingrid was a manager in the Government Securities Division of Prudential Securities. She supervised a staff responsible for reconciling all of the firm’s positions in government securities, reporting to the accounting department, and interfacing with the information technology division for purposes of systems development and integration for government securities transactions.

As a consultant, Ingrid has also taught accounting to the staff of the Union Bank of Switzerland, with a focus on preparing employees for the CFA examination. She served as the treasurer for the annual CIFE conferences (Computational Intelligence for Financial Engineering). She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1983 and an MBA in Public Accounting at St. John’s University in 1989. In 1987, she was elected a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business.

Ingrid has been active in her community, volunteering for many local organizations and committees. She served on Pocono Mountain School District’s Tax Study Commission in 2006. She served two years as Treasurer and one as Co-Chair of Playgroups, Inc. in Stroudsburg, two years as Treasurer of Pocono Elementary Center PTO, three years as School Store Committee Chair at PEC, three years as Treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 85 in Tannersville, thirteen years as a leader in Cub Scout Pack 75 and a Committee member of Boy Scout Troops 75 and 80.

Personally, Ingrid & Tom have 3 sons. Their at-home menagerie includes two Black-mouthed Curs.
